Maternity Photos
The Mister and I had some photos made a few weeks ago. This was actually his idea and I thought it was very sweet that he felt strongly about documenting this time in our life. I have always been a little funny about having maternity pictures done and definitely didn't want any bare belly shots! The shoot was a lot of fun and I know I will cherish having these photos to look back on. Here are two of my favorites from the shoot.
The talented Husband Wife duo, and our good friends that make up Megan Alexander Photography took the photos. Check out Megan and Alex's website here.

Where has time gone?
That's how I am feeling these days. Sorry for being so M.I.A. but alot has been going on in my life lately, so I apologize for the blog being a bit neglected. Growing a baby is hard work, not to mention working full time and trying to get everything ready for our little nugget. Which by the way will be here before we know it, we are 60 days from our Due Date!!! I am trying to not let panic set in as we enter these final months, I really want to enjoy this time and cherish every minute of it. We had our Fisrt Baby Shower this past weekend and it was so nice to be surrounded by some of my very best friends and so much love. Here's a little Instagram/ phone dump of happenings around the Cameron Casa.

Before and After...A Dentist Office
A few months ago I was contacted by a Dentist in High Point who was buying an existing practice. With the purchase he inherited all the old and out-dated decor and furnishings too! The budget was tight and he wanted my help in making some changes to give the practice a new and more updated look. As you can see in the pictures below, paint and investing in a few key pieces really can go a long way.
Here is the main Lobby area before, looks like your typical Dentist office doesn't it? All the chairs lined up like ducks in a row! Why oh why does every dentist/doctors office do this? Drives me crazy! There are so many options out there now for Contract furnishings that give you a more homey feel, and create a more modern look. Everything in this room was removed, except the carpet. Since we were working on a budget and the carpet was in good condition, we kept it. The textured wallpaper was removed and walls were painted.
And the after! I chose a sleek contract grade Loveseat to replace all those chairs to give the lobby a more welcoming feel. Also, new decor items were added in artwork, lamps, and even pillows. Pillows are a great way to add interest and bring in that homely feeling. New sidechairs for additional seating were purchased and covered in contract grade fabric, much better than those old and dated chairs from before! All the tables and case pieces were purchased in a dark wood tone again to give the space a more modern feel.
In addition to the Lobby, the Exam Rooms and Main Hallway were given minor upgades that I think made a HUGE difference to the space.
Here is the Main Hallway leading to the Exam Rooms before.

Don't you love the peach and mint colored walls? And the fish Tapestry is to die for! Again walls were painted and new artwork was added to update this space. The biggest expense in this part of the office was the new wood-looking contract flooring that was laid to give a more modern and updated look.
And After! So much better! Also a new doorway was cut in the existing wall to allow for easy access to private office space. The new toned down space creates such a soothing and calm environment, much different than the outdated mess it was before.
The exam rooms before were all painted either peach or mint. Sort of reminded me of an Ice Cream Parlor! Which if you visit too often could land you at the dentist, right? Here is one of the exam rooms before.
Walls were painted and the same wood floor was laid in all the exam rooms. These small changes really made a huge difference. Here's the after.
Did I mention the fabulous views this office has? The building overlooks a small lake and each exam room has floor to ceiling windows to capture the view. The walls in the exam rooms were all painted a neutral grey so the beautiful lake view becomes the focus, not the dated colored walls!
I really enjoyed working on this project. It was outside the normal relm of projects I typically work on, so the challenge was fun. Just goes to show small changes can make the biggest impacts.

Mohawk Rug Give Away!!!
Recently I was contacted by Mohawk to choose and review an area rug of my choice. I was so excited to be asked to do a product review by Mohawk, they have some great looking rugs! Mohawk Home, the rug divison of Mohawk Industries, is the largest manufacturer of area rugs, indoor and outdoor mats and washable rugs in the United States. One of the things I love most about Mohawk is that most of their products are made right here in the United States. They have such a great variety of area rugs, indoor and outdoor rugs and I am very impressed with how many of their new designs are so on trend with what is going in the design industry. Here's a great video about Mohawk and the values they stand behind.
When it came time for me to pick, I had a hard time narrowing it down to just one rug! I knew I wanted to use the rug in my recent foyer re-vamp and the rug I chose was... (insert drumroll here)
The Versailles Rug in Costa Rica Beige. I knew this rug would be the perfect focal peice to our entryway. I also love how the slate blues in the rug really compliment the slate flooring in our foyer. What makes Mohawk so great is they have a super easy Area Rug search tool on their site you can access it here. It allows you to narrow down your search by color, size and even style. Also check out the where to buy tool and see what retailers near you carry Mohawk.
The Versailles rug came and it is even better looking in person! I love how rich and vibrant all the colors are and I am in love with how the rug really has added that finishing touch to our entryway. Here is what the space looked like sans rug.
And here it is now!
The rug definatley added that finishing touch the room was lacking. The quality is wonderful and I love how the colors in the rug change through out the day with the natural sunlight. Even the toughest critic in the house wasn't sure what to think at first.
Now it is her favorite place for afternoon napping! She approves of the new addition!
A lucky reader will recieve a rug of your choice up to 5x7 in size and valued at $150. For rules on entering see below. Also be sure to check out the Mohawk Rug search tool here. You can also stay up with the latest happenings at Mohawk by following their blog here and following Mohawk on Pinterest here.
The giveaway will run until March 1st! Good Luck!!!
